I am a Navy brat who moved around a bit growing up, but decided to put down my own roots in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Poultry Sciences from Virginia Tech. I spent a few years working at various clinics in Florida before I ultimately went to veterinary school at the University of Florida.
My veterinary interests include surgery, cardiology and a special interest in the human/animal bond. I have a soft spot for my grey muzzled patients and absolutely love helping my patients and their pet parents maintain their quality of life as they get into their golden years. I also have a deep love for shelter medicine and have worked with various rescue organizations and shelters, having personally fostered over 100 animals helping them find loving, fur-ever homes.
When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking, cooking and spending time with my own fur babies (3 dogs, and 3 cats: Cooper, Callie, Lily, Taylor, Steve and Bramble).
