Dr. Kristen Hammett, owner and senior veterinarian
Hello! Veterinary medicine is not just my job, it is my avocation. I enjoy all aspects of small animal practice, especially surgery, internal medicine, and canine reproduction/breeding. Waynesville is my hometown, and I returned here in 1988 to practice veterinary medicine after receiving my veterinary degree from Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine. In 1996 I led the Animal Hospital of Waynesville to become the first AAHA accredited practice West of Asheville because I wanted to make sure my hospital provided top notch veterinary medical care to my patients and excellent service to my clients.
I have 2 daughters: Jesse Marie and Savannah, and an assortment of pets. In my free time, I enjoy horseback riding, hiking, travel, reading and being “Mom” to my daughters.

Dr. Susan Bull
While I involve myself in nearly all aspects of small animal practice, my particular interests are internal medicine and opthalmology. I earned my veterinary degree from North Carolina State University in 1994 and began practice at The Animal Hospital of Waynesville. Fairfax, Virginia, is my hometown but I have strong family ties to the North Carolina coast.
My husband, Adam Bull, is an attorney in Asheville. We have two sons, Nathan and Andrew, and a daughter, Lindsey. We also have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a guinea pig, and a fish. I am currently serving on the North Carolina Veternary Medical Board serving a 5 year apointment. Outside of veterinary medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family at the lake and on ballfields and basketball courts throughout North Carolina.

Dr. Joel Harrington
Hi, I am Dr. Joel Harrington. I grew up in Northwest Ohio and received my degree in veterinary medicine from The Ohio State University. I practiced veterinary medicine in Ohio for a couple of years before relocating to the Waynesville area to enjoy the beautiful mountains of North Carolina and this great city.
I enjoy every aspect of veterinary medicine, especially helping my patients avoid major health problems and grow old gracefully through education and preventive medicine. Outside of the hospital I enjoy every imaginable outdoor activity, even more so if the activity allows me to bring along my two rescued boxers Diesel and Lexi. I look forward to continuing to discover what the area has to offer and getting to know the people that make this area great.
